Downtown Construction Notice

NOTICE: As of Monday, June 22, Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Platte Avenue to south of the Kiowa intersection until approximately July 31, 2009 as part of the Downtown Infrastructure Construction Project. Additionally, Bijou, Beaver and Kiowa will be closed between the alleyways immediately east and west of Main Street.

The alleys will remain open for traffic!  The businesses’ back doors are very accessible!

FORT MORGAN DOWNTOWN INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE (June 26, 2009)

Below is a summary of activities, and not to be considered all inclusive.

1.       ECI has reported that after the first 27 construction days the project is on schedule.

2.       Asphalt Paving activities from 8th to Platte starting at 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM – Friday and Saturday Nights (June 26-27, 2009)

3.       Activities worked this week:Installed 900′ of 24″ RCP storm pipe, inlet connections and manholes along Main Street from Platte to Beaver.

    1. Installed 900′ of 16″ water main along Main Street from Platte to Beaver.
    2. Placed entry wall and seatwalls at the Main/Beaver & Main/Kiowa intersections. (The colors will lighten as it cures)
    3. Placed 3 signal pole and 2 pedestrian pole foundations.
    4. Placed concrete curb & gutter along west side of Main Street.
    5. Placed grey concrete sidewalk along west side of Main street.
    6. Demolition of curb & gutter, sidewalk, tree stumps, light pole foundations and paving east side of Main Street from Beaver to Kiowa.
    7. City performed survey of existing water services and prepared as-built/construction plans for installation of new meters.

4.       Activities Scheduled next week:

    1. Install 24″ storm drain from Beaver to Kiowa.
    2. Install 16″ water main from Beaver to Kiowa.
    3. There will be intermittent water service disruptions along Main St. from Platte to Beaver.
    4. Chlorine, clear water, and pressure test water main from Platte to Beaver.
    5. Water services from Platte heading South.
    6. Decorative seatwalls installation will continue at Beaver and Kiowa.
    7. ECI encourages shoppers to utilize back entrances at businesses.
    8. Platte and Main Street concrete pavement patchback North to South.
  1. Also, for your reference I have attached a photo at Main/Beaver looking southbound.  You will notice the outline of the new curb line, entry sign and bulb out on the west (right side of photo) is beginning to take shape.
