FORT MORGAN DOWNTOWN INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE (July 9, 2009)

Below is a summary of activities, and not to be considered all inclusive.

1. ECI has reported that after the first 40 construction days the project is on schedule (even with monsoon-like rain).

2. Asphalt paving is scheduled for this weekend (pending weather) on Main Street from Platte Ave to just North of Beaver. This will allow ECI will open up Main Street from Platte Ave to Bijou Ave next week, including some of the parking on the 500 block.

3. There will be intermittent water service disruptions along Main St. from Beaver to Railroad.

4. Activities worked this week:

1. Installed 180′ of 24″ and 18” storm pipe, inlet connections and manholes along Main Street to Kiowa.
2. Installed 190′ of 16″ water main along Main Street to Kiowa, including 1 fire line at Cover Theater.
3. Placed seatwalls at the Main/Beaver & Main/Kiowa intersections. (The colors will lighten as it cures)
4. Passed chlorine, clear water, and pressure test for the 16” water main from Beaver to Kiowa.
5. Installed water services/meter pits from Beaver to Kiowa with assistance from City. The 300 block to 500 block are now receiving their water from the new 16” water main!
6. Installed signal pole foundations east side of Main at Beaver and Kiowa intersections.
7. Installed traffic loop north bound Main Street.
8. Installed irrigation and electrical conduit at Beaver intersection.
9. City installed primary power conduit in Kiowa from alley to Main St.
10. Placed concrete pavement south side of Platte at Main St.
11. Placed concrete ramps (3) at Beaver intersection.
12. Framing coal chutes at 228/230 Main Street.

5. Activities Scheduled next week:

1. Closure of Main Street from Kiowa to Railroad for installation of 16″ water main from Kiowa to Railroad.
2. Water services/Meter Pits from Beaver to Kiowa.
3. Install water cross to connect new 16-inch water main in Main Street to existing 8-inch main along Beaver Ave.
4. Curb & Gutter east side Main from Beaver to Kiowa.
5. Place concrete sidewalk and ramp sections at Beaver intersection.
6. Remove remainder of sidewalk east side of Main from Beaver to Kiowa.
7. Decorative seatwalls installation will continue on east side of Main Street at Beaver and Kiowa.
8. Underground electrical from Beaver to Kiowa.
9. Pavement markings along Main St.
