Dowtown Update
FORT MORGAN DOWNTOWN INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE (July 30, 2009)
Below is a summary of activities, and not to be considered all inclusive.
Attached is a progress photo: Left is June 25, 2009, the right shows
July 31, 2009.
* ECI has reported that after the first 58 construction days the
project is on schedule.
* Opened Main Street through the Bijou intersection.
* Sidewalks are closed on the 200 block until aggregate base
course is installed (by Tuesday); use rear entrances.
Activities worked this week:
* Installed 16″ watermain tie-in to existing 14″ watermain at 100
Block, and tie-in to the 8″ main in Railroad.
* Completed water services in the 100 & 200 block. Waterline
and water service activities are now complete.
* Installed remainder of 36″ RCP storm pipe in the Railroad
intersection, including the type R inlet. The 24″ and 36″ storm
pipes are now complete.
* Placed seatwalls at the SW corner of the Main/Kiowa intersections.
* Completed flatwork at NW, NE, and SE corners of the Beaver/Main
intersection.
* Placed 5′ color band on the east side of the 300 block.
* Placed grey concrete sidewalk west side of Main Street at
Kiowa’s NW corner.
* Placed color concrete at NW corner of Kiowa.
* Placed paver curb, geotextile fabric, perforated 4″ pvc pipe,
and #2 & #57 stone for the parking stall permeable pavers.
* Demolished and hauled off pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter
at 200 block.
* Striped Main street from 8th to Bijou.
Activities Scheduled next week:
a. Clean/wash flatwork to Kiowa and caulk expansion joints 300 block.
b. Paver brick (for parking stalls) installation 300 block.
c. Complete aggregate base course, blue top, and asphalt
paving 300 block.
d. Place grey sidewalk in front of TQuest & MCC (Monday).
e. Concrete flatwork at the Kiowa intersection.
f. Curb & Gutter west and east side Main at the 200 block.
g. Roadway excavation for fly ash 200 block.
h. Subgrade prep for grey sidewalk along store fronts 200 block.
i. Place portion of grey sidewalk along store fronts 200 block.
j. Set electrical pull boxes Kiowa intersection.
The City staff, ECI and their subconsultants say thank you, the
businesses and residents of Fort Morgan, for their overall continued
support and understanding of the construction activities.
